The Board met on monday, Dec. 1st. at 4 1/2 P.M.
Present. Brn. Tupper, Keesee, E. Wortham, Garlick, Watkins, Clarke, Ellyson and Gwathmey. Bro. Goddin also in attendance.
In the absence of the President, Bro. Keesee was called to the chair. Prayer was offered by Bro. Tupper. Minutes were read, and approved.
The Treasurer presented his monthly report as follows:-

The Cor. Sec. stated that letters had been received from Brn. Crawford and Williams of China. He also read communications from Bro. G. B. Taylor and Dr. Cote. He likewise presented and read to the Board, the following paper, which had been approved and signed by sixteen members, on the 19th ult:, and since forwarded, with the funds to Rome. On motion it was ordered to be entered in the minutes of this meeting as the action of the Board.
Whereas Bro. Taylor in the exercise of his best judgment, as missionary to Italy, has given employment to Dr. Cote, since his dismissal by the Board, and requests the appropriation of $375, as payment of such services, be it resolved that an appropriation of $375. be made to Dr. Cote.
Resd. that in response to Dr. Taylor's suggestion in reference to the renting of rooms in a central part in the City of Rome, for schools, preaching, &c., the Board commit the matter to the direction of Bro. Taylor, expressing however the opinion, that the purchase of a house and lot is desirable, whenever it can be safely and judiciously done.
Letters were also received from Bro. G. B. Taylor, with regard to a claim presented to him for payment by the Agent, employed by Dr. Jeter in the matter of the purchase of a house in Rome which on motion, was referred to the Committee on European Missions, with authority to give such instructions in the case, as they may deem best.
On motion, the Treasurer was authorised to pay a bill
