Richmond, December 1st, 1845.
Board met at the house of the President. Prayer by Br. Ball. Present Brs. Jeter, Ryland, J Thomas Jr., Fleet, A G Wortham, Gwathmey, A Snead, Taylor, Magoon, A Thomas, Ball, Crane, C T Wortham, Talman & Sumner. Treasurer's monthly report was read. A letter was read from Br. Howell, in which he states that he shall be present at the meetings in June, and wishes to defer his decision, in relation to the appointment proffered him by this Board till that time; but, if he must now decide, he shall decline.
Whereupon Rev. James B. Taylor was by ballot elected Corresponding Secretary of this Board.
The following report was then read by the President,
"To the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Bap. Convention,
Dear Brethren,
Agreeably to your request I attended the Annual Meeting of the China Mission Society which met in Georgetown, Ken. Friday, Oct. 18. I was rec'd with great cordiality, and had the pleasure of laying before the society the plans and prospects of our Board. The Society dissolved its connection with the Triennial Convention, and adopted with great unanimity the enclosed authenticated *resolutions. I cherish the expectation that our Kentucky brethren will vigorously cooperate with our Board.

"Resolved--That our Corresponding Secretary be requested to correspond with Elder Issachar J Roberts & advise him to place himself under the direction of the Southern Board of Missions.
Resolved--That this society deem it necessary to renew our exertions in order to raise funds for the spread of the Gospel in China.
