The Foreign Mission Board met in Convention-wide session at Glorieta, New Mexico,
August 18, 19, 20, 1969 with the President of the Board, Dr. W. Morris Ford, presiding.

The meeting of the Board opened with a dinner at 6:00 p.m. on August 18, in a special
section of the Glorieta Dining Hall. A delicious meal and a period of delightful fel¬
lowship were enjoyed.
Immediately following the dinner, Board members and the administrative staff of the
Foreign Mission Board adjourned to Room N, New Mexico Hall, for a discussion period.
This period opened with the Hymn: "Jesus Is All the World to Me," led by Dr. Claude Rhea.
Mr. James D. Hall read a passage of Scripture and led in prayer.
The President welcomed the missions professors who had been invited to the dinner and
the discussion period. Those present were:

Dr. L. Jack Gray, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
A brief report was given on the disaster, both in loss of life and property, because of
the floods in Mississippi and Louisiana.
By unanimous consent, the Board voted to send a telegram to Dr. W. Douglas Hudgins whose
absence had been explained because of the flood situation.
Dr. Cauthen and Dr. Ford extended a special welcome to all new Board members - those who
were elected to the Board during the meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention in New
Orleans in June 1969. These members were invited to the platform and recognized as
follows :
