The Foreign Mission Board met in Convention-wide session at Glorieta, New Mexico,
August 13, 14, 15, 1973, with the President of the Board, Dr. W. Douglas Hudgins,
presiding.

Meetings of the following "Special Committees" were held on Monday afternoon, August
13, 1973 as follows:
2:00 P.M. - SALARY STUDY COMMITTEE - Room N (New Mexico Hall)
3:00 P.M. - BOARD MEETINGS - 0UT-0F- RICHMOND - Room M-2 (New Mexico Hall)
4:00 P.M. - COMMITTEE ON MISSIONARY SUPPORT - Room M-l (New Mexico Hall)
5:00 P.M. - FEASIBILITY STUDY - HEADQUARTERS EXPANSION - Room L (New Mexico Hall)
Members of the Board and its staff, along with their wives/husbands enjoyed an op¬
portunity for fellowship during the evening meal, 6:00 P.M. , Monday, August 13, in a
private section of the Main Dining Hall at Glorieta.
The President, Dr. W. Douglas Hudgins and the Executive Secretary, Dr. Baker J. Cauthen,
recognized members of the Board who were elected during the meeting of the SBC in
Portland, Oregon, June 1973. All members of the Board were asked to give personal
introductions, including their families. Members of the staff made personal intro¬
ductions and named their specific responsibilities by divisions, departments, and/or
sections within the Board's organizational structure.
The President and the Executive Secretary expressed deep appreciation for the number
of Board members present and the opportunities for service in the program of the Board
during the days ahead, as the Board & staff work together in the cause of world missions.
The President called attention to the "Foreign Mission Fair," a feature of the Foreign
Missions Week program, to be held immediately following the dinner hour.
After the "Foreign Mission Fair," a World Missions Musical, entitled "The Name Givers"
was scheduled to be held at 8:15 P.M. , in Holcomb Auditorium.
Following the meal and a closing prayer, the group adjourned for the remaining features
of the program.
