Minutes of the April 4, 1859 Foreign Mission Board Meeting

The Board met on Monday, April 4th at 8 oClock P.M. Present. brn: Jeter, Poindexter, Thomas, Manly, Burrows, Keesee, Ryland, Goddin, Ellyson, Barns [sic], Wood, E. Wortham, Snead, & Gwathmey. Prayer by bro. Ryland. Minutes were read and approved. Brn. Seeley, Crawford & J. Q. A. Rohrer were also in attendance. On motion, the regular order of business was suspended for the purpose of proceeding to the examination of bro. Rohrer with a view to his appointment as a missionary, which having been duly gone thro' with; on motion he was unanimously accepted and it was further agreed to defer the designation of
