The following report of the Ways and Means
Committee was read hy

M. Gwathney, and adopted;
Jo recommend:
1. That the Corresponding Secretary
he authorised to secure a local Committee of two in Clin¬
ton, IJ. C. , these to select a third, and 'appraise the
house and lot bequeathed to the Foreign Mission Board
hy Mrs. Mitty G. Corbett, air1 that sale of the .property
be nude to Mr. Corbett on the basis of the committee’s
estimate.
2. That the Treasurer be authorised to
issue a bond to Mr. ’,V. W. Thompson of Onaga, Kansas,
for whatever additional amount he wishes to invest in
annuities, and that this special rate of 7$ he allowed
on thi3 additional investment.

Miss Olive Edens appeared before the
Board with a view to appointment. She was examined hy
3. C. Hening and appointed for work in Africa, to teach
in the school at Abeokuta.

way to her field in Africa.
The special committee on securing a por¬
trait of Dr. Willingham reported the following:
The special committee which was ap¬
pointed to have made u portrait of Lr. Willingham , for¬
mer Corresponding Secretary of the Board , would report
that the portrait has been finished, and that the
family of Br. Willingham and the Committee are greatly
pleased with it.
We recommend, therefore., that it be
accepted and that the Treasurer be authorized to pay
the artist, Mrs. Mary Burwell, and that he also be
authorized to pay for a suitable frame for the portrait.
