Letter of Rev. S. W. Britton NEW GEORGIA, Aug. 20, 1859 DEAR BRO. TAYLOR: I avail myself of this opportunity of writing a few lines to you, by way of information, that I am now stationed at New Georgia, by the request of our beloved brother Day when alive, and must say my labours have been blessed amongst this people. I have been earnestly engaged in preaching, teaching, and visiting the sick. Our little Zion seems to be growing. We have great reason to rejoice and take courage. I must inform you of the death of two of our deacons, — very useful and devoted servants of God. They died with the small-pox: gone to reap a rich reward, where there will be no sickness nor sorrow, but all shall be eternally happy. I pray that God will raise up others to fill their places.
