MONROVIA Letter from Rev. J. T. Richardson MONROVIA, March 20th, 1959. Rev. A. M. Poindexter: Dear Brother , — It affords me much pleasure to state that all things pertaining to the mission at this point are moving on in the usual way. Every branch of the school at this station is doing well; also, the church is moving on gradually in the work of her calling. UNION PRAYER-MEETING There is established in our church a daily prayer-meeting, called the Union Prayer-meeting. All the various denominations have united. The particular objects of meeting are, the revival of the work of God in the midst of the churches, and the general spread of the blessed Gospel among the heathen tribes. This meeting was organized on the 15* of February, and has continued with increased interest up to this date. It has been well attended up to last evening; and as indications are good, we are living in full expectation of a revival in our midst. In my next I hope I shall be able to write you of its results. QUARTERLY MEETING The first Quarterly Meeting in this year was held with my church at New Virginia, last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We had fine times. No converts; yet Christians seem to have been much revived during the meeting. My request is that you will not forget us when approaching the Mercy Seat. The fields being already white to harvest and the labourers few, pray that the blessed Lord will send forth more labourers into his harvest — efficient ones — to lead the sinner to the foot of the cross of Christ, there to obtain eternal life through faith in the Saviour. ENCOURAGING INDICATIONS The heathen are now waiting for the salvation of God. They seem to be more willing at this time to embrace the religion
