Têngchowfu, Shantung, China, March 24, 1911. My dear Luther, I am enclosing you the official statement about the famine in Central China. Will you not speak to the pastor of your church & ask him to obtain a contribution to help these poor sufferers? The details are heartrending as we get them from Pochow where our missionary Mr. Bostick is stationed. He & a Catholic priest there are charged with the distribution of grain.
