./macs T. I V. I rrnon, Ilarticell, Georgia:
“The church at Mill Town has been blessed
with a revival since my last report, which
continued nine day». During the revival
we received into the church by baptism
thiitcon members— three by letter, and one
by restoration— total 17. Sabbath-school
and prayer-meetings well attended. We
have had a revival also at the Line Gliurch,
which continued nine days. Duiing the
meeting we received by bapti-m 22 mem¬
bers— by letter:!, 1 by restoration— total 2G.
Among those that have joined ns during our
revival are several Method sts, who ore veiy
worthy citizens. Four of licit number have
been nicinbeisof the Methodist Society for
nearly Ui years. They are tho fathers ami
my whole lite before. But, 1 said with Da¬
vid ! “ Deliver me, 0 Lord, from mine ene¬
mies: l fly unto Thee to ludo mo. Teach ;
me to do Thy will; for Thou nrf'my Gild;
thy Spirit is good ; lead mo into tho land of
uprightness.” (Pstn. 143 1 9, 10.) To
show our enemies that wo were not afraid of
men. we resolved to organize ourselves as a
church, which took place the 17tli January,
1859. This caused us new tribulations, hut
soon we could with tho Psalmist say: “The
voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the ta¬
bernacles of the righteous: tho right hand
ef the Lord doctli valiantly. The right
hand of tho bird is exalted: the right
hand of the Lord doctli valiantly.” (l'sm.
118: 15, lfi.) The ice was broken, the
strewed seed had grown, and 1 could reap
the liist fruits. After six months' labor f
baptized the first two souls into the death of
Christ, with feelings of gratitude towards
Grul, which cannot bo described. It was
the 10th of April, 1859.
From that time were onr meetings better
attended, and sonic souls got convinced of
the truth, butal-u the persecution increased
