"I love the Lord, because He hears my voice and my suppli¬
cations. Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I
shall call upon Him as long as I live." Psalm 116:1-2 NASB
FUXIN, CHINA (FU-shin). Fuxin, a city with a
population of 782,000, is located in the northeastern part
of China in Liaoning Province. Known as 'the city of elec¬
tricity/ Fuxin is an important base for energy and is contin¬
uing to emerge as a major developing industrial center for
chemicals, machinery, radio and textiles. Fuxin also is rec¬
ognized as a major coal-mining center. With the power and
advancement of transportation and postal communications,
Fuxin is likely to become a major player in the Chinese mar¬
ket as well as overseas. Fuxin not only contributes physical
resources, it also boasts of a rare historical Chahai people
site that is 8,000 years old. The unearthing of the ruin of this
primitive tribe caused great excitement throughout the
country and abroad. Please pray that as this city opens up to
foreigners, it also will be open to the gospel. Pray that work¬
ers will commit to sharing the gospel with the people of this
growing city where less than 1 percent are believers.

for much of his work, which involves training lay leaders to
lead and to plant churches. Pray that God will help him to
identify good leaders in the churches and that they will be
committed to learning and implementing what they leam
from God's Word. Pray that he will receive wisdom and
vision for the churches under his care. Pray that the Lord
will raise up more pastors for the churches in the Ntcheu

camp will be ready when the first journeymen arrive later
this month. Please also pray for Steve and Susan Bowers, as

South America.
" Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in
the assembly of the saints." Psalm 149:1, NIV
KAMMA OF SOUTH INDIA (KHAH-mah).
The discussion about Jesus had left J feeling frustrated. J
could see a difference in his friend, but it came at such a
high price. J's friend had been disowned by his father
because of his acceptance of a "low man's religion,"
Christianity. As much as he wanted to believe in this Jesus, J
did not want to lose his family, his job or his status within
the village. J knew that to accept Jesus would not only affect
him but his whole family. The caste system keeps many
Kamma from coming to know the Lord. Pray that the
Kamma people will realize that faith in Jesus Christ is a
priceless gift available to anyone, regardless of an earthly
caste designation. Pray that J will come to understand that
salvation is more desirable than earthly wealth, but also that
Jesus will provide strength and courage to endure persecu¬
tion for His name's sake.
6 ZIMBABWE (southern Africa). The quilting
project of the ladies of Overspill Baptist Church is turn¬
ing out many beautiful baby quilts and lap robes. One large
order has been filled, and now new markets are needed to
continue the project. Pray for those markets to be found.
Thank the Lord for the extra income these ladies are mak¬
ing. Thank the Lord that He has used this project to teach
tithing in the church. The offerings have tripled in the last
two months.
3 BRAZIL (eastern South America). The
Germans have given us many Christmas traditions like
lights, trees and the songs
О
Christmas Tree and Silent Night,
and yet today these traditions have replaced a personal rela¬
tionship with God. Pray for Baptist representatives Daniel
and Teresa Allen as they lead a team seeking to reach
Brazilians who are descendants of German immigrants.
4 WESTERN SOUTH AMERICA. Please pray
for Baptist representatives Uless and Mary Lee
Bergeron as they ready the training camp for the Xtreme
team, a group of young, single men willing to go into the
rugged and remote mountain areas to spread the gospel.
Please pray that God will bless their efforts and that the
ITALY (western Europe). The Rome team asks
you to petition the Father to provide the necessary
equipment and space so that a reading room /library can be
established at one of the refugee camps in the city. Petition
for religious freedom to read and study the Bible without
fear. As many of the young men are well educated, pray for
them to see their ultimate need of Jesus Christ in their lives.
Pray for hope in the midst of a seemingly hopeless situation.
HOHHOT, CHINA (HOH-hut). Please lift up a
young believing couple in Hohhot. He has been a
believer for a while but has just recently been making God
the most important thing in his life. She became a believer
this past spring and has been growing quickly. God is
