"And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent
of old who is called the devil and Satan, who
deceives the whole world " (Rev. 12:9a, NASB).
In one of the most stunningly beautiful places in all
the earth, the Himalaya Mountains, a people unknowing¬
ly live in bondage to this devil deceiver. They are the
Drukpa of Bhutan, and their tradition tells them that cen¬
turies ago a "holy man" heard thunder, the supposed
voice of the dragon, and in response, dedicated themselves
to him. To this day, they refer to themselves as people of
the dragon and live in obedience to him. Indeed, "... the
god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbeliev¬
ing so that they might not see the light of the gospel... "
(2 Cor. 4:4, NASB).
We know that Jesus has conquered Satan and his
demons. That is gospel — good news. Liberation from the
dragon's deceit and domination is now available by
trusting Jesus. On June 1, we will have the powerful priv¬
ilege of again loving the last, lost peoples of the world —
this year the Drukpa — by praying that they might see the
Truth and believe. To aid you and your church in inter¬
ceding with maximized insight, we have prepared a free
video and prayer kit. Please call us today at 1-800-866-
3621, so that we may send it to you. Then, on behalf of
the Drukpa, let's stand before God. ...
Praying,
RandySprinkle, Director
Prayer Strategy Office
A UNITED KINGDOM (northwest Europe).
I Please pray for continued direction for those who are
organizing M-Fuge 2001 (Missions-Fuge), a youth missions
outreach scheduled for July. The ministry team is planning
a major Scripture distribution. The team has vision and
purpose but is still waiting to hear from the Father about
the specifics, particularly regarding a location. Pray that
God will ready the hearts of those who will be touched as
well as the students from the United States who will be
serving as volunteers. God did truly awesome things
through M-fuge last summer. Will you join the team in
praying that He will work in mighty ways this year, also?
2 MIDDLE AMERICA. Today, May 2, 2001, has
been designated a "Day of Prayer" for the countries
that make up the Middle America Region — Mexico, Guate¬
mala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Pana¬
ma and Canada — and for the El Paso Baptist Publications
Mission in Texas. During this annual day of prayer all mis¬
sionaries in the region will set aside their normal activities
and spend the day praying earnestly and strategically for
the needs in their areas of ministry. They invite your pres¬
ence on this day as their prayer partners, joining them in
asking that the gospel will break through the barriers
among the millions of lost peoples in Middle America.
3 BEDOUIN OF NORTHERN AFRICA (BEH-
doo-in). A few weeks ago, some members of a
prayerwalking team were passing through a city and
caught a taxi to their next destination. The driver asked
them if they were Christians, and they said yes. He told
them that just the night before, he had had a dream about
Jesus! The prayerwalkers were delighted to hear of God's
working in this man's life. He mentioned the area of the
country where he was from. They knew it to be an area
with many Bedouin, so they asked him if he was Bedouin.
After being quite surprised and happy to discover that the
team knew about the Bedouin, he answered, "Yes." The
conversation continued, and they were privileged to
answer several more questions and give him a Bible. Please
pray that the taxi driver will read the Bible and will be sen¬
sitive to the enlightening and convicting work of God's
Holy Spirit as he meditates on its meaning. Pray for protec¬
tion from questioning about what he is reading and why.
Pray that his path will cross that of other Christians and
that, in God's perfect timing, he will have an opportunity
to join in the regular fellowship of mature believers.
4 MONGOLIA (north of China). Pray for a
number of internationals who are making an effort to
do evangelism in the marketplace. They go out weekly to
try to meet people and find a warm place to sit and talk
and share the Good News with them. These men are going
outside in minus 25-degree Fahrenheit weather to share
Christ. What men of faith!
5 TAJUMULCO MAM OF GUATEMALA
(tah-hoo-MOOL-coh mahm). Missionary Pam
Jones, a member of the Tajumulco Mam team in western
Guatemala, asks you to pray that God will break through
the cultural norm of holding grudges for years at a time
among this unreached people group: "Stiff grudges, char¬
acterized by not speaking to one another or even crossing
near that person's land, are affecting the work of God in the
