March 2007
Passionate, persistent and powerful prayer for the peo¬
ples of the Pacific Rim is the cry of our hearts. As in¬
tercessors connect with the Father and align their wills,
purposes, strategies and agendas with His, He is moving
in mighty ways throughout this diverse region of 800 mil¬
lion people in 3,000 different people groups.
Thousands of new believers have come to faith in
Jesus Christ in the Pacific Rim this year. The Gospel is
advancing among groups who before had little or no ac¬
cess. In spite of increasing persecution, local believers are
growing in boldness and sharing the Good News with
their families, neighbors and friends. Still others are being
trained in church-planting methodologies and are surren¬
dering to cross-cultural missions. Hundreds of volunteers
have visited the Pacific Rim and worked alongside Chris¬
tian workers, spreading the Good News through prayer¬
walking, medical clinics and disaster relief efforts.
God is at work among the peoples of the Pacific Rim,
and your prayers are making a difference! It is a team effort
to reach every people group in the Pacific Rim, and we
value your part on our team as committed intercessors who
pray, give and go. To learn more, visit us at go2pacrim.org.
'"If you can'?" said Jesus. ". Everything is possible for him
who believes" (Mark 9:23, NIV).
PACRIM LAST FRONTIER. Being persecuted for having a
Bible may be different than persecution for being His wit¬
ness. What causes bad relationships in open countries might
cause persecution and death in a closed country. The truth is
that persecution always divides the community. Pray for up¬
coming training designed to help workers and local believers
learn how to understand and respond to persecution. The
four areas where the training will be held has experienced
persecution, so this training will be timely and needed.
HUNGARY (eastern Europe). The winter months can be
an extremely difficult time for the homeless and for those
living in poverty. The street people in the major cities of
Hungary are noticeable. Less seen, but nonetheless real, are
the number of people in villages and across the countryside
who suffer from cold and hunger. Please pray for believers
to reach out in love to those who are hurting and to share
not just a coin or a piece of bread, but also how to find new
hope and life in Christ. Pray that churches and individual
believers will have the courage to break down the invisible
walls created in society and will find creative ways to help
break the cycle of poverty.
Q MAASAI OF EASTERN AFRICA (MAH-sigh). Please pray
и
that the Maasai pastors, leaders, men, women, youth and
children will all learn the 42 chronological Bible stories and
have a vision and passion to share them in every "boma"
(homestead or small village) in every location with every
"olosho" (sub-tribe) in both Kenya and Tanzania until the last
Maasai hears the Good News of the Lord Jesus, the Messiah.
MALAYSIA (southeastern Asia). With a rich and unique
mix of cultures, the people of Malaysia and Singapore
are well-acquainted with the sight of Hindu temples, Bud¬
dhist spirit houses and Muslim mosques, all of which sym¬
bolize the main religions in the area. In addition, economic
growth and global influence have made materialism a ma¬
jor aspect of daily life. Pray for the peoples of these coun¬
tries to experience a work of the Holy Spirit, drawing them
to seek the truth, peace and true riches only found through
Christ. Pray for the spiritual growth of existing believers
and for evangelism that results in new churches.
BHUTAN (between China and India). Pray that Bhuta¬
nese believers will be surrounded by loving, faithful and
supportive friends. Ask God to bring healing and restora¬
tion to broken or strained relationships. Pray these things
so that God may be glorified in Bhutan as others see His
followers living exemplary lives.
LENCA OF HONDURAS (LEN-kah). Just as the New
Testament Jews feared being put out of the synagogue,
many Lenca fear excommunication from the Catholic church
if they accept the evangelical message of salvation through
faith in Jesus Christ alone. Pray that Lenca believers will be
bold in their faith and witness, "loving praise from God"
more than "praise from men."
MALAYSIA (southeastern Asia). Join in prayer for Chi¬
nese and Tamil Indian students living in Malaysia and
Singapore. Pray for a powerful work of the Holy Spirit to
create a hunger for God and a fresh boldness and passion
for the lost around them. A ripe harvest field is waiting.
Pray for leaders to rise up for new churches and for the
Word of God to go forth in power to those who need to
hear of His salvation and love.
PACIFIC RIM LAST FRONTIER. Ask that ministers will
not stand in the way with their own plans but will surren¬
der all to God asking Him to have His way in their lives
and in the lives of their people. Pray for believers to walk in
