April 2004
On Pentecost Sunday, May 30, 2004, we will again observe the annual Day of Prayer and
Fastitigfor World Evangelization. This year we turn our focus to the Peoples of the Arabian
Peninsula. Please call our toll-free number, (800)999-3113, today to order your free video to
assist your church in this vital prayer effort.
They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shout¬
ing, "Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of
the Lord. ..." (John 12:13, NIV).
1 BELGIUM (western Europe). Team Belgium
rejoices that about six months ago, T, a Ukrainian,
accepted Christ and his life has totally changed. T now
feels that the Father is calling him to be an evangelist to his
own family and country. Give praise for T's willingness to
follow his Maker wherever He leads, no matter how diffi¬
cult the path. Petition that T will remain strong in his faith
as he leaves Belgium and returns to his home country to
share about the salvation that he has found in Christ.
2 PROFESSIONALS OF SANTIAGO, DO¬
MINICAN REPUBLIC (sant-ee-AHG-oh).
"A, a young Dominican believer, has been very enthusias¬
tic about the training in leading worship that he has re¬
ceived from Barrier Breaker Team members. He is a very
talented musician, and we praise the Lord that He wants to
use those gifts to build up the body of Christ. Please pray
for him, for his economic needs, for direction and for his
continued growth and enthusiasm."
3GUIBEI ZHUANG OF CHINA (gway-BAY
jwahng). Pray that God would send His Spirit to
this area, softening the hearts of the people and making
them ready to receive the gospel. The Zhuang are famous
for the ability to sing and compose songs on a moment's
notice, but at the current time, their songs are songs to the
spirits that they fear. Pray that soon they would be creating
songs to worship the one true God.
They brought Jesus to the place called Golgotha (which
means The Place of the Skull). Then they offered him wine
mixed with myrrh, but he did not take it. And they cruci¬
fied him. ... (Mark 15:22-24, NIV).
4MARENSE OF BURKINA FASO (mahr-
ON-say). Please pray for the village of Louda. The
Marense Christians in Louda continue to be passive in
facilitating their own worship and fellowship. On a recent
visit, Marense Team members helped facilitate a Sunday
worship, but most of the Christians did not come. Pray that
the Holy Spirit will create a burning desire among believers
to grow in their walk with Christ and to reach out to others.
A woman named Z from the village of Ouanobe has been
having dreams about entering the Jesus Path. She believes
that the Jesus Path is true, but is burdened by her inability
to read. Pray the Holy Spirit will continue to move in her
heart and enlighten her with the truth of God's Word.
5 PERSIAN-SPEAKING WORLD (PSW). Lisa
PSW worker who works with Persian refugees in a
European country. The main focus of his work is on the
Iranian Arabs. Pray for L as he helps Muslim-background
believers start churches in that country. One PSW pastor has
already started one new church. Praise the Lord that the new
church is already flourishing. Pray for the successful begin¬
ning of another church that the pastor is attempting to start
in another city. Pray also for him as he attempts to learn the
language of the original New Testament manuscripts.
6 FRENCH EUROPEANS AND
ВЕКЕ
OF
MARTINIQUE (BAY-kay). "A lot of the work
with French Europeans is relationship building," writes the
Scale the City Team. "They are distrustful of persons they
don't know, especially when it comes to any religious idea.
They have been disillusioned by groups such as Jehovah's
Witnesses and Mormons and they lump evangelicals into
the same category. Please join us in faithfully praying for
these people that are lost, with no hope for a future that is
different. Those who come to know Christ are transformed
