Agency for Africa The Board have determined upon the expediency of continuing the agency for Africa, which was left vacant by the death of our esteemed Brother Ball. It is known that he was preparing to return to the coast, for the purpose of still farther exploring the field, and temporarily supervising our missions there, when he was called to his home in heaven. The necessity for such an agency still remains. The Rev. John Kingdon of Baltimore has been appointed to this work. He will be expected also to visit the Yoruba mission, for the puipose of aiding to secure a more ready transmission of supplies to our brethren there. This agency will be attended with peril and serious responsibility. Let our brother be remembered in the prayers of all God’s people. T. Home and Foreign Journal August 1 854 p. 6
